Four (mostly) poetry events coming up!

Need a poetry fix? There's a whole pile of readings coming up, starting with the launch of a new Qwerty issue, then a reading and open mic, then a book launch, and then the 15th annual Poetry Weekend! Qwerty kicks things off at Wilser's Room on Wednesday evening at 7pm.

Summer Issue Delayed

We regret that our summer poetry issue (200 poetry-packed pages!) will be out a little later than usual, due to an unexpected malfunction at the printer. As a result, the issue is still a few weeks away from arriving on the newsstand or in your mailbox, but believe us, it will be worth waiting for! Check out our cover. Two Fiddlehead Contributors Nominated for National Magazine Awards!

Congratulations to all the nominees for this year's National Magazine Awards, but especially to two Fiddlehead contributors Tammy Armstrong and Dominique Bernier-Cormier for being finalists in the Poetry category! Congrats also to our Creative Nonfiction editor Alicia Elliott as well for her nomination in the Essays category for "On Seeing and Being Seen: Writing with Empathy."

Poetry Month Event Features Fiddlehead Editor Ross Leckie

Join Fredericton’s Cultural Laureate, Ian LeTourneau, as he leads a panel of three local poets —Triny Finlay, M. Travis Lane, and Ross Leckie — with readings and discussion at the Fredericton Public Library on Thursday, April 26 from 7 – 8:30pm in the River Reading Room.

Triny Finlay is the author of two collections of poetry, Spitting Off (2004) and Histories Haunt Us (2010), both published by Nightwood Editions. Her most recent publication is the forthcoming chapbook, You Don’t Want What I’ve Got.

Announcing Finalists for 2017 New Brunswick Book Awards!

Saint John (NB) March 23, 2018 - The Fiddlehead and the Writers' Federation of New Brunswick have announced the shortlisted titles for the third annual New Brunswick Book Awards. The winners will be announced at a celebration, honouring writing and illustration excellence, on Friday June 8, at the Lily Lake Pavilion in Saint John. The event will begin with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by the awards presentation at 7 p.m.

Odd Sundays Presents Roger Moore and Alexis McCormack

The Odd Sundays reading series gathers again on Sunday, March 18 at Corked Wine Bar, 83 Regent Street, beginning at 2 PM. The two readers this time around are Roger Moore and Alexis McCormack.
