2021 Creative Nonfiction Contest Shortlist Announced!

The Fiddlehead is excited to announce the finalists of our 2021 Creative Nonfiction Contest, judged by Chelene Knight! The winner of the $2000 contest prize will be announced on October 1 and the winning essay will appear in the Autumn 2021 issue (289). Thank you to all who entered and congratulations to the following fifteen finalists!

Erin MacNair's Music Recommendation

Erin MacNair is a writer from North Vancouver, B.C. She’s published in The Walrus, EVENT, Pulp Literature, Prairie Fire, and various other journals. She's won awards for her fiction and non-fiction stories and is currently working on a short story collection and a novel. Jane Shi's Reading Recommendation

Jane Shi is a queer Chinese settler living on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Her poetry appears in Room, Canthius, SAD Mag, and PRISM International, among others.
