We're excited to announce the winner of our 2024 Ralph Gustafson Poetry Prize is Nancy Holmes for her poem "My Mother's Hair"! Nancy Holmes will receive $2000 in prize money and her poem will appear in the Spring 2025 issue of The Fiddlehead. You can read the poem or listen to a reading of it by Nancy Holmes now on our website.

Nancy Holmes has six published collections of poetry, most recently Arborophobia (U of Alberta Press). She is the editor of Open Wide a Wilderness: Canadian Nature Poems (Wilfrid Laurier UP). She lives in Kelowna and has recently retired from teaching Creative Writing at UBC Okanagan. www.nancyholmes.ca.
