Hal Niedzviecki will be reading from his newest work of fiction The Archeologists this Monday, January 30th at 8 pm in the lounge at the Alumni Memorial Building on the UNB campus. The event is free to the public and all are welcome to attend.
As a writer, speaker and teacher, Niedzvieck's works address the effects of mass media, pop culture, and consumer technology on individuals and on society as a whole. He is the author of the collection of short stories Look Down, This is Where it Must Have Happened, the nonfiction novels Trees on Mars: Our Obsession with the Future and The Peep Diaries: How We're Learning to Love Watching Ourselves and Our Neighbours. Niedzviecki is the current fiction editor, as well as the founder of Broken Pencil Magazine. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, Playboy, The Utne Reader, The Globe and Mail, The National Post, The Walrus and Geist.
This event is presented by the UNB Department of English, the UNB Bookstore and The Fiddlehead.
