A book I have become obsessed with is Denison Avenue, a short novel by Christina Wong, illustrated by Daniel Innes. The format itself is groundbreaking, as one side of the book is the novel in text, and the other side of the book is inked artwork retelling the novel’s story.

"Swimming Towards the Door" by Ariel Gordon
Content note: discussion of hoarding disorder, family disintegration, and suicidal ideation.
The summer of 2019, I was playing free-courts tennis twice a week and swimming in between. My friend Sue was waiting for hip surgery and was in a lot of pain. There was a pool in her apartment tower and her physical therapist had suggested that swimming might help with some of the pain, but she needed prompting and goading to move.
