There is pride mixed with sadness in contemplating the Collected Poems of A.J.M Smith: pride in these hundred good poems produced by a Canadian who has exercised such a potent influence on our literary development ...
The first of these is a beautifully produce book: convenient in size, well bound in an attractive red cover with white lettering and an appropriate black cover design, good quality paper, clear and well-proportioned type faces.
I believe this book is worthy of mention because, unlike most 'vanity' publications, it does not bear on its surface the reasons for its failure to achieve regular publication.
