Congratulations to many past Fiddlehead contributors who have been having great success. Recent announcements forThe New Quarterly's 2016 Contest and the Scotiabank Giller Prize longlist contain names familiar to readers of The Fiddlehead.
Lisa Alward has won TNQ's Peter Hinchcliffe Award for fiction for her story "Old Growth." Her story "Cocktail" won our 25th Annual Literary contest and was published in No. 263 (Spring 2015). Julie Paul has won the Edna Staebler Personal Essay Contest for "It Not Only Rises, It Shines." Her Fiddlehead appearances were in No. 232 (Summer 2007) for her story "Radio Who" and No. 233 (Autumn 2007) for her story "Feeding on Demand." A few of the runners-up have also appeared numerous times in our pages. Alice Major has two poems on the Nick Blatchford Occasional Verse Contest; her most recent Fiddlehead publication was two poems in No. 258 (Winter 2014). And Christopher A. Taylor was the runner-up for the Personal Essay Contest; his most recent appearance in The Fiddlehead was No. 229 (Autumn 2006).
The Scotiabank Giller Prize longlist boasts six past Fiddlehead contributors! Not only are they very talented fiction writers, but four of those six appeared in The Fiddlehead as poetry contributors. Here they are with their most recent publication in The Fiddlehead:

McClarty's story "The Pool Game" was published in No. 257 (Autumn 2013) and she also has a story forthcoming in our next issue this fall!
