The city of Fredericon has just announced this morning that Jenna Lyn Albert, a member of The Fiddlehead's eidtorial board, is the city's next poet laureate! Here is the city's news release:
"Local poet, Jenna Lyn Albert has been appointed as the City of Fredericton's next poet laureate. She will serve for a two-year term starting January 28, 2019.

The odd sundays event on December 16th will be the last at its usual location of Corked Wine Bar, 83 Regent St. It will feature a slightly different format from the norm. The main portion of the afternoon will be a retrospective on the poetry of Margaret MacQuarrie-McLeod, who recently died after a lengthy illness. Margaret’s poetry will be read by members of the Wolf Tree Writers Group, of which Margaret was a founding member. That will be followed by two open sets on a seasonal theme.
