Thank you to everyone who came out to the Fredericton Public Library this weekend to celebrate our 80 Years of Art at The Fiddlehead Gallery Opening and Winter Issue Launch! We were thrilled to see how many people were excited to celebrate the journal with us.
We want to especially thank our Editor Sue Sinclair and our Managing Editor Ian LeTourneau for hosting the event, along with our readers: Ross Leckie, who served as Editor of The Fiddlehead from 1997 to 2018; Beth Powning, who read from "The Good Night," her first published story which appeared in Issue 107; Sherry Coffey, who read from her nonfiction piece "Hiking the Fundy Footpath" from Issue 282; and Jocelyn Anderson who read two poems including her poem published in Issue 301. We also wanted to thank Becky and the New Brunswick Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services for providing ASL interpretation for the event as well as the library for offering us the space to celebrate 80 years of literary foraging.
The 80 Years of Art at The Fiddlehead Gallery features a selection of covers from the journal's 80 years, the majority of which feature the work of Atlantic Canadian artists. If you would like to visit the gallery, it will be on display at the Fredericton Public Library until the end of March.
