IN a recent article for this journal I wrote that in these days of galloping inflation, political instability, renewed threats of being nuked until our cold ashes glow in the dark, and massive and growing unemployment it seems that individual feelings of helplessness and insubstantiality are growing again to those proportions they reached in the late fifties.
