The odd sundays event on December 16th will be the last at its usual location of Corked Wine Bar, 83 Regent St. It will feature a slightly different format from the norm. The main portion of the afternoon will be a retrospective on the poetry of Margaret MacQuarrie-McLeod, who recently died after a lengthy illness. Margaret’s poetry will be read by members of the Wolf Tree Writers Group, of which Margaret was a founding member. That will be followed by two open sets on a seasonal theme. But by seasonal, we’re thinking about more than just holidays (although that would be most welcome); we’re considering how the deep darkness of winter affects and impacts us, the darkening days when ghost stories and wicked fairies do their worst, when the weird clamours for notice.
This will be a time for you to consider adding your name to these open mic lists, whether you’re a regular open mic reader or have never yet stood and read for the group.
Come and join the party, starting at 2pm.
