2022 Fiction Contest Open & Judge Announced!

We're excited to announce that Chris Benjamin will be judging this year's Fiction Contest!

Chris Benjamin is a journalist, editor and fiction writer. His fourth book, a collection of short fiction called Boy With A Problem, was shortlisted for the Alistair MacLeod Prize for Short Fiction. His Indian School Road: Legacies of the Shubenacadie Residential School was named a Nova Scotia Book of Influence by the province’s librarians and publishers; Eco-Innovators won the Best Atlantic-Published Book Award and was a finalist for the Richardson Non-Fiction Prize; and his novel Drive-by Saviours made the Canada Reads Top Essential Books List.

There will be one prize of $2000 for the winning short story. Check out the contest submission guidelines for more information!

This year's contest deadline is Thursday, September 1, 2022 (postmarked for mailed entries and 11:59 pm Atlantic Standard Time for Submittable entries).
