Award-winning playwrights Anna Chatterton, Len Falkenstein, and Colleen Murphy will read from their works on Wednesday, February 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge of the Alumni Memorial Building on the University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton campus. The readings launch the book publication of two plays — Lac/Athabasca by Len Falkenstein and Gertrude and Alice by Anna Chatterton and Evalyn Parry — and introduce Colleen Murphy as UNB’s Writer-in-Residence.

The next odd sundays takes place Sunday, February 18 at Corked Wine Bar (83 Regent St.), starting at 2pm. The two featured readers are Wayne Curtis, who often writes about life on the Miramichi, and Jane Tims, a botanist-cum-poet. As always, there will be a free book draw and an open mic set.

At a ceremony on January 20, 2018, Canadian senator David Adams Richards handed out 12 150th Senate Medals. In a news release, Senator Richards says, "I am very pleased to be presenting the 150th Senate Medals to twelve deserving individuals. These medals have been given out nationally to people who have made positive contributions to their communities. The men and women being honoured have contributed in diverse ways — through writing, art, sport, history, education, and community leadership.
